Hey guys,
To be honest, I've never read any of Paul Ockenden's articles before. Maybe that's because he's a UK-based writer and PCPro.co.uk is just not on my radar. But, I can tell that I like him already. Why? Because when it comes to Wi-Fi, he "gets it"!
Read Banish your Wi-Fi Woes by Paul Ockenden: http://www.pcpro.co.uk/realworld/356446/banish-your-wi-fi-woes
Ockenden really lays it out well in this article and explains the problems and solutions when dealing with Wi-Fi in the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands. He also gives nice plugs for inSSIDer and Wi-Spy... gotta love that :-).

Laura starts with some in-depth Wi-Spy and Chanalyzer instruction of how to troubleshoot interference in the physical layer then goes into how to capture and interpret wireless traffic with Wireshark. Always fun — and perhaps a bit devious — Laura is famous for completely thwarting an unsuspecting wireless LAN by jamming it with RF interference during the class.
