I want to be able to limit the range Wi-Spy scans, so that the scans happen in a faster rate. For example, instruct it to scan only 802.11 channel 11, which makes the scans shorter so the number of scans per second will be higher. (Please not that I don't mean just "showing" a smaller range, I mean actually "scanning" only a smaller range.)

Is that possible by changing something on the current software/hardware? Or does it need to be a new feature?

I suggest you add the channel number and the AP MAC address to the display to make this program more valuable.
Inssider will crash if you start it while Netstumbler is running.
