802.11b Linksys
This device signature comes from a standard Linksys Router. We presume the wireless device signature of most Linksys wireless routers are similar to the one provided above. For some further reading, check out our favorite online encyclopedia!
Typically the default channel is six, (as with most Wireless Routers), so looking at your wireless neighborhood using Inssider and/or Chanalyzer, you should have a pretty good idea how to establish a reliable Wi-Fi connection.
802.11b on Channel 6
Some access points have large side lobes like this one; others have no side lobes to speak of. Notice the neighboring network on channel 11 — 802.11b signals appear as a rounded bell-shaped arch in the topographic view approximately 22 MHz wide. The arch should be exactly centered on one of the defined 802.11b channels.
