Not possible to select Wi-Spy 2.4x

Hi,
I've just bought a Wi-Spy 2.4x. Chanalyzer works like a dream, but having downloaded and installed the latest Inssider (version 1.0.8.0213) the Wi-Spy doesn't appear as available to select in the drop down list. The only things available there are; my ethernet adapter, a Bluetooth adapter, and an MS TCP Loopback interface.
Can anyone help?
Cheers Tom
P.S. Here is an attempted link to a screen shot!
Not possible to select W-Spy 2.4x
The Wi-Spy device does not read packets, it only detects activity on the physical layer, this is why it can show things other than WiFi access points like microwaves and cordless phones. The use of Inssider will simply make the use of Chanalyzer more effective.
Try running both of them at the same time!
Hi Trent,
> Try running both of them at the same time!
This made no difference.
Having got Inssider to work perfectly on a laptop with an existing wireless card it looks as though I need a wirelss driver for the Wi-Spy 2.4.x?
Tom
I'm sorry if I wasn't clear, The Wi-Spy device only reads the physical layer, and will not function as a Wi-Fi network card. It will never show up in Inssider because the hardware isn't built to read the data.
We typically recommend using Chanalyzer with Inssider because then you can visualize the information from inssider using the topographic display of chanalyzer.
I've added text to a screenshot of chanalyzer to illustrate what using inssider and chanalyzer simultaneously shows me:
