Great start. But at the very least the MAC address necessary. Like the stumbler products & kismet, it would be really nice to be able to integrate a couple things in, like GPS, text or cvs output saving, for mapping purposes. Does it pick up cloaked ap's? If so, how does it identify them if the ssid isn't being broadcast? Just curious.
It's nice to see someone pick up where Marius left off.
Thanks! Getting the MAC address and channel isn't supported by the WLAN API in XP. We'll get there eventually, but it is going to take some experimentation. In Vista, the information is already provided. Right now, I think cloaked APs just show up as a blank name, so they aren't very distinguishable in XP.
We did approach Marius about buying the rights to NetStumbler or taking over development of it, but he was not interested, so we are basically starting over from scratch.
