.net framework 2.0 invisible to WiSpy?

Hi all:

I just received my order and am very excited, but having trouble with installation.

I followed the link to MS and there I found .net framework 2.0 (rather
than V 1.1.4322) I installed this and did multiple windows updates to
get my system up to speed.

However, after the .net framework 2.0 installation, the WiSpy
installation routine still complains that I need .net framework
1.1.4322. I don't know if it's not seeing my version, or if my .net
install is broken (it appeared OK), or what.

Anybody have any advice for me? Here are the rest of my system specs

Windows XP home 5.1.2600 SP 2 installed service .net runtime optimizaton service v2.0.50727_x86 is running IE V6.0.2900.2180 WiSpy V2006.1.26.0 Firmware Version 1.0

Thanks much,

Larry

Edit: FWIW, it runs from CD fine, it just won't install...

Thanks again.

Larry

FWIW

Because I have Visual Studion 2005 Standard loaded, I was able to enter the CLR Debugger. It said:

An unhandled exception of type 'System.IndexOutOfRangeException' occured in cyusb.dll

Additional information: Index was outside the bounds of the array.

FYI

The latest version available from the website should fix the .Net 2.0
installation issues. It is available at:
http://www.metageek.net/wi-spy/support.php

I too would like to know if progress is being made on the new installer.

How's the new installer coming? Running from CD has some limitations and I'd like to get the real deal installed.

Thanks

Wi-Spy will run on .Net 2.0, but the installer is set to only install
if .Net 1.1 is installed... the best workaround right now is to copy
the Wi_Spy_Standalone directory on the CD to your hard drive and then
run it from there. I'm hoping to have a fixed installer posted by the
end of the weekend.
