wi-spy and wi-spy 2.4 dbm numbers comparable?

I tried testing the original Wi-spy and the new Wi-spy 2.4 side by side (attached to separate computers, a few inches apart).
The patterns in the various views look fairly similar, but the dbm numbers with the 2.4 version seem to be about 20dbm lower than the original version.
Is this normal? I'd have expected them to be much closer, if not identical.
The 2.4 is using the antenna supplied with it.
I've tried using the latest stable Chanalyzer version as well as the beta 3.0 and both are the same.
In some cases, the original Wi-Spy might show lower values for signals with very short durations, but overall I would expect them to be pretty similar. If you could send an email with some recordings, I'l take a look and see which one looks to be erroneous.
