Just received the wi-spy 2.4x and fired it up. I'm unable to get any SSID info. I press on "start scanning" and nothing happens. Called tech support but know one answered... left a message. Hopefully someone here can steer me in the right direction.

Sorry, we were in staff meeting. Did you select your wireless card in the dropdown? Do you use the windows Wi-Fi tool, or do you use a connection utility provided with your wi-fi card?
You will not be able to select the Wi-Spy in the drop down because it functions as a spectrum analyzer and doesn't read AP beacons.
Wow, what a meeting.
Ok, that you responded let me give you some more details that may shed more light on this. First, I'm using a mac running Fusion. So, I'm running windows XP thru Fusion. Nothing shows up on the drop down box so I'm guessing the problem must be with Fusion since I can't see a wireless card???
Also I would like, if possible, to use the build-in Wifi in the laptop.
Thanks,
SR
There are two options as far as I can see.<ul>[*]Use Chanalyzer Lite for Mac.* This will use the built in Wi-Fi in the laptop.[*]If that option is not sufficient for what you are trying to do, you will need an additional USB wireless adapter, and the drivers installed on your Windows XP system.* Right now Vmware uses a bridge to connect to the internet, and there is no wireless card installed, which is what Chanalyzer needs to discover the SSIDs.[/list]It was good to talk on the phone.* I hope Chanalyzer Lite works for you.
