Question Question about a version compatible with both N-wireless bands?

inSSIDer is a great product and this thread contains many good suggestions for an improved inSSIDer. But I wondered if or even when might be a version (iNSSIDer or NSSIDer?) with improved compatibility for both N-wireless bands. Using my Netgear WNDR 3700 dual band N-wireless transmitting both on channel 11 (2.4GHz) and channel 57 (5GHz) my Dell Vostro 1500 (native G card replaced with a "Dell wireless 1505 Draft 802.11N mini-card") can see channels for the 2.4GHz band in the right pane. But the display for the 5G band is different and seems channel dependent. That is, I am able to see lower channels (30’s) on the right pane (5 GHz) using inSSIDer, but not most of the higher frequences.

Also in the inSSIDer table the 2.4 band speeds are reported as G-wireless (that is 54), but mine are often greater than 100 and sometimes even greater than 200 Mbps. And the speed for the 5GHz signal at channel 157 is shown as 0

Stores are selling mostly N-compatible systems now that the draft issue is resolved, so I’m sure you developers must have thought about this issue. My question is whether technical problems might be delaying or impacting this improvement?

when I buy the N model Or when my phone company leases me one to be more precise, then all N s/w needs to be in place, until then, I'd love an option that says "it's N or B or G", NOT display 5Ghz chanells, i cant see. (i.e. give me an option NO GPS, NO 5GHZ display, NO lat/long)

Thank you ssid21, with the latest release you should be able to filter by channels. As far as filtering the location settings we'll see if that comes up as a feature request often enough. Thank you for your feedback.
