Default New install of Channalyzer 4 and Wi-Spy 2.4x not being seen

    Greetings,

I just purchased the Channalyzer 4 & Wi-Spy 2.4x combo, loaded it onto my Windows 7 64bit laptop, upgraded to version 4.0.9.0208 and I still can not get the 2.4x to install so that Channalyzer 4 will see it.

I do see my imbedded Intel Centrino 6200 adapter, but not the Wi-Spy 2.4x USB adapter.

    *** Update ****

I do see the 2.4x install as a HID device in device manager, but still it doesn't show up in Channelyzer 4.

I've also tried installing the software with the 2.4x installed and vise versa, still no luck.

    Suggestions?

    Thanks,
    Dan

Default Also got the same problem

I have just received a Wi-Spy2.4x package and have installed on a Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit operating system.

The driver for the Wi-Spy2.4x device does not seem to have been detected and it shows up as a 'HID-compliant device' plus a 'USB input device'.

A screen grab of a message I got at driver install time is attached.

Not an impressive start to using this package.

    Any assistance gratefully received.

Default Situation resolved - all working as it should

I had a short email exchange with the support guys at Metageek - the situation is resolved.

The Wi-Spy2.4x device presents itself as a 'HID-compliant device' in Device Manager - there is nothing that identifies it as a Wi-Spy device.

Everything is working as it should and the more I use the system the more I like it. Already helped a friend avoid interference on his Wi-Fi by moving to another channel and been able to identify a video-cam in the vicinity.

    Just to add to this:

The Wi-Spy is not a wireless network adapter so it will not display in the list of wireless network adapters. The Wi-Spy is automatically detected by Chanalyzer and it detects all RF data occurring the the band you are listening to and sends the information to Chanalyzer which displays it for you to see.
