    Default Ubiquity and Mac

    Help a newbie out!

Attached is a scan from Chanalyzer on a Mac.
What is the flat bar in the middle of the Ubiquity UniFi signature on Channel 1?
What are the other, consistent, low-level signatures on every other channel?

And when can I get Chanalyzer Pro for Mac?

    Thanks so much!

    watoosi,

That flat red line that you are seeing is very weak signals being picked up. It's nothing to really worry about as it is noise that will always occur on the spectrum and it doesn't really affect your network because it's so weak.

That other line in the middle of the AP on channel 1 isn't anything either. Again it's all basically weak noise occurring on the band. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

I'm not too familiar with our Chanalyzer for Mac as it was well before my time here and there is rarely any support questions that come in on it. I am not aware if we decreased the noise floor on it or not. I do know on Chanalayzer 3, the noise floor was at -110 and would display the same looking lines you are seeing because of the fact that there are those weak signals that don't really matter being picked up. I wouldn't suspect the Chanalyzer for Mac to have the same low noise floor.
