Use inSSIDer on a wired PC?

I have a mixed wired and wireless home network. The wireless devices are games and a media player. Can I get inSSIDer to run on one of the wired PCs to see the connection speed of the wireless connection? I installed it on a Win 7 Ulitimate 64 bit machine but when opeing the inSSIDer is reports no wireless adapeter. Would I be required to take a nebook over to the house to see the wireless coneection speed?

inSSIDer requires a WiFi adapter to be present on the local machine. Using a netbook should work well.
